ABOUT C&J'S ANIMAL PARK

Founded in 2008, C&J’s Animal Park was created by John and Elaine McCreery, whose farming background and family passion for animals led to the park’s beginnings. What started with a flock of Leghorn chickens quickly grew into a diverse collection of species, from reptiles and amphibians to small mammals and birds.

Driven by a love of nature and a desire to educate, the McCreery family built C&J’s Animal Park as a place where visitors could enjoy hands-on, memorable experiences while learning about animal care, biodiversity, and conservation.

Today, C&J’s Animal Park continues to grow and evolve while continuing to connect people with animals. Many of our residents are rescues or rehomed pets who now have a safe, permanent home with us.

We play an active role in community education and inclusion, working with local schools, youth groups, and organisations such as the Clanrye Group.

With an ongoing redevelopment programme, including the recent opening of our new Reptile House, we remain dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that bring people closer to animals and nature.

 FACILITIES

Our park is easy to explore, with flat gravel pathways and accessible routes to all areas, including our most popular attraction, the Reptile House!

Toilets (including a disabled toilet) and dedicated handwashing and sanitising stations are available throughout the site.

We have both indoor and outdoor picnic areas, so feel free to bring your own food. Tea, coffee, ice cream and other small snacks are also available to purchase at the entrance. Please note that we don't have a café at present.

If you have any special requirements or requests, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

We’ll always do our best to help.

ANIMAL
ENCOUNTERS

During your visit, you can enjoy unforgettable animal encounters with many of our amazing residents!

Handling sessions take place throughout the day, every day, giving visitors the chance to meet, touch, or hold a variety of animals, including snakes, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, and more, depending on the day.

Our friendly staff will guide you through the experience, offering advice on safe handling and answering any questions you might have about our animals and their care.
